Over the past year, federal executive orders, funding cuts, and grant terminations have disrupted programs, shrunk the public health workforce, and restricted the language and data used to describe and address health disparities. Even so, health departments, community organizations, and coalitions have kept working to protect the health of their communities.

This year’s theme, Community Power and Resilience, honors that commitment. Taking place in Detroit, a city whose residents have long shown what organizing and neighborhood leadership can achieve, the 2027 Public Health Law Conference puts community power at the center. Spend three days with colleagues from across the country sharing strategies to build and share power, defend hard-won gains, and strengthen the legal and policy tools that keep communities healthy.

Who will be there:

  • leaders of community-based organizations
  • public health officials
  • administrators and practitioners
  • policy makers
  • lawyers
  • researchers
  • others working to advance health and health equity in their communities

40 sessions will address core issues related to:

  • Advocacy and Community Engagement
