CAPT Matthew Ritchey, CDC’s Office of Public Health Data, Surveillance, and Technology (OPHDST) Acting Director

Keynote Address

CAPT Ritchey will set the stage for where public health data modernization has been and where it’s going, building on a foundation of trust, collaboration, and a shared mission to drive public health action. CAPT Ritchey will highlight concrete modernization efforts, including simplifying data sharing through the single jurisdictional Data Use Agreement; increasing transparency around CDC data policies; expanding access to tools through initiatives like the One CDC Data Platform Partner Workspace; and strengthening the ecosystem through modern platforms and trusted data intermediaries. The talk will close with a vision of a more responsive, connected, and sustainable public health data system—one where agencies spend less time on administrative barriers and more time acting on data to protect communities.
